I’m Irish, but since 2022 I’ve been living in Italy, teaching English and attempting to master the Italian language (with mixed success). I didn’t expect to meet the love of my life on Tinder. I didn’t expect to be won over by a man whose profile proudly featured his dog Apollo… and his washing machine. A man who respects clean laundry? I was sold. We met in Venice, because apparently we like to keep things cinematic. Between the canals, the questionable navigation skills, and the general chaos of two people meeting for the first time, it was genuinely magical. Unfortunately, real life interrupted. I was heading off to Spain for work, and also doing the whole “finding myself” thing. But as it turns out, you can’t outrun a good love story. We found our way back to each other, and this time there were fireworks (metaphorical… mostly). Since then, we’ve been inseparable, like pasta and parmesan. What started with a swipe and a suspiciously impressive washing machine has turned into something pretty special. And honestly, I’d swipe right all over again.
